Ganymede, Jupiter's Seventh Moon

Welcome to the Seventh Moon

It's been a long road to where we are now.

And that, my friend, is the understatement of the year. I don't remember how long ago this website first went "live," but it seems like an eternity. In that time, I spent nearly two years in the South Pacific, conducting my dissertation fieldwork. I'm back in the States now, and I've nearly finished the documentary video - except for a bit of tweaking - and I will then have to finish writing a 150-page paper. Then, once I've successfully defended, I will be officially "Doctor."

But that is down the road a little bit further.

In terms of prophecy, there was quite a little brouhaha over 06/06/06, and, very much like the 12/31/99 thing, pretty much nothing happened.

I've had some interesting dreams lately, and I don't know if they're prophetic. Take a look at them and see what you think. You can post your own on the Seventh Moon forum; follow the link on the left.

The most recent dream is called "Parade of the Avatars."

Parade of the Avatars

June 16, 2006

THERE IS A PARADE through town. It's a small, probably midwestern town but could be anywhere. It's main street and it's a very wide street with generous sidewalks. No one has parked on the street to make way for the parade.

All of the spectators - and there are many, many who turn out to see the parade - are sitting in the lotus position or half-lotus, on the sidewalks. They are all wearing creamy-pale yellow (almost white) colored robes, like Buddhist monks. The spectators are two and three rows deep along the parade route.

YOU CAN donate to the Seventh Moon... if we could get about $8.00 a month, I can get rid of these distracting ads.

If you have any suggestions for site content and/or know of any prophecy not mentioned that deserves a look, please write to Seventh Moon. Check the Contact page for email details

The Seventh Moon:
Ganymede

The painting below is called "Ganymede", by Johanna Pieterman. Ganymede is the seventh moon of Jupiter. In mythology, Ganymede was a Trojan boy of great beauty whom Zeus carried away to be cup bearer to the gods. This moon was discovered by Galileo and Marius in 1610.

Ganymede is the largest satellite in the solar system. It is larger in diameter than Mercury but only about half its mass. Ganymede is much larger than Pluto.

Ganymede's surface is a roughly equal mix of two types of terrain: very old, highly cratered dark regions), and somewhat younger (but still ancient) lighter regions marked with an extensive array of grooves and ridges (right). Their origin is clearly of a tectonic nature, but the details are unknown. (Heck, they look like tire tracks to me!) In this respect, Ganymede may be more similar to the Earth than either Venus or Mars (though there is no evidence of recent tectonic activity).
